2021 Polaris Indy VR1 137: A new platform and high performance on the track
The all-new 2021 Polaris Indy VR1 137 was announced earlier this year and promises to deliver top-level performance combined with precise steering and surprising agility on the track. Built to tackle the trail with confidence, the 2021 Polaris Indy VR1 137 is just as comfortable in an open field as it is in the woods.
In addition to being efficient, the 2021 Indy VR1 137 stands out with the SnowCheck program, a personalization product that allows you to modify your snowmobile to your specific tastes. That said, customized or purchased directly from the dealer as is, the new 2021 Polaris Indy VR1 137 gives its rider a high-caliber snowmobile capable of accelerating and performing beyond expectations.
Patriot Engines that Deliver the Goods
The 2021 Polaris Indy VR1 137 comes standard with a new 650 Patriot engine that emphasizes segment-leading reliability and efficiency. Smaller than the 850, it's more fuel-efficient, meaning the 11.5-gallon gas tank capacity will last you longer on the trails.
That said, the 850 Patriot is definitely a performance improvement. It is the most powerful motor Polaris has ever built and although it is bigger, it only adds 9 pounds to the weight of the Indy VR1 137.
The new Matryx platform is the basis for the Polaris Indy VR1. The Walker Evans Racing Velocity front shocks for disconcerting stability in dynamic driving while the rear track shock absorber offers just over 16 inches of travel. Two different track lengths are available: 129 and 137 inches and it is possible to choose 3 types of performance on the track. The skis are Pro-Steer units on all models. The Pro-CC rear suspension perfectly combines acceleration, handling and comfort to provide a snowmobile with predictable and sporty handling.
On the technology side, the 2021 Indy VR1 137 offers the very impressive Ride Command (7S Display) system which notably includes a 7-inch touchscreen that is easy to use, even with gloves on. This screen gives you a host of useful information while driving including elevation, engine temperature and of course, clearly marked speed. You can also control the screen displays with controls on the handles.
Speaking of handles, SmartWarmers technology helps keep our hands and thumbs warm without being "too hot" for the gloves. Snowmobilers will be happy to learn it!
